Staying Healthy While Traveling
I used to do a good job avoiding air travel, but when my family moved across the country I could no longer avoid it. In the past I might have gotten a wicked headache or a cold after flying, but I have some things I do now to stay healthy and feel good during travel.
Before the flight, I make sure to moisturize my face and hands as an extra step in the goal of staying hydrated during air travel. As soon as I pass security at the airport I buy a large bottle of water. I also try my best to keep a regular exercise routine right up to the trip.
Some things I pack in my bag are:
- Green powders with probiotics.
- Natural Calm. This is a magnesium supplement to drink at night.
- Hand Sanitizer Wipes. I use EO Brand made with essential oils instead of Triclosan. These are great to wipe down your area of the plane as well as your hands.
- Protein Bars. This past trip I brought some Kind and Bulletproof bars.
- Activated Coconut Charcoal. I only use this if I consume dairy, gluten, or alcohol.
I also follow David Wolfe’s three steps for travel, which include: avoiding full body scanners, taking Mega Hydrate, and getting grounded after the flight. On my most recent trip I used the traditional metal detector and I got my bare feet in the sand as soon as we arrived. You can read his steps in detail here.
