My Morning Practice
I have tried so many different morning practices and honestly each one just became something I felt badly about not committing to. It was not until I created this routine, based on different teachings I was engaged in, that I began to understand why people have morning routines. Here is how it goes:
Wake up and drink a large glass of water followed by a tea. While I am drinking my tea I read for a few minutes. I have so many good books! I brush my teeth and comb my hair and head to my tiny, but special place of quiet. If I am not feeling motivated I start with a round of tapping called the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) otherwise if I am ready to start I hold off on doing EFT until the end. My practice is a Kundalini practice. I am not a teacher, so if you are interested, I will link videos of what to do if you want to learn it properly. The names give a good hint on what they are all about.
1 minute seated spinal flex
3 minutes meditation to Open the Heart
3 minutes Ego Eradicator
3 minutes Prosperity Meditation
I then check in and do a quick EFT set. I use this book. It has different sequences for anxiety, grief, frustration, procrastination and many more. It takes about a minute, but it really works.
I then wake up my kids if they haven’t already woken up and make breakfasts and lunches. I usually start my day with a smoothie. My favorite combination is: water, 2 scoops full fat coconut milk, frozen cherries, spinach, ½ avocado, and vanilla protein powder.
