Chocolate & Cherry Sorbet

A Whole Food Cleanse Approved Recipe

This tastes very similar to Italian Ice. I went to make my Berry Sorbet from my upcoming Spring Cleanse Recipe Book and noticed frozen cherries in the freezer. I decided to experiment and this is the recipe I made. My kids loved it.

Ingredients
  • 2 cup very light almond milk*
  • 8 oz. bag frozen cherries
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 droppers stevia or 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in the blender.
  2. Blend for about 20 seconds and stop while you still hear cherries being broken up.
  3. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and if the option is available press sorbet mode or churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Scoop into cones or bowls and serve.

* I made special almond milk for this recipe to keep the recipe light. I used ¼ cup soaked almonds and blended with 4 cups water and 1 teaspoon coconut nectar.  Strain milk in a nut milk bag.
