7 Breakfast Ideas To Start Your Day

When I eat a good breakfast, my day goes smoothly.

So many people ask me what I eat, and while I love to share, it is always important to remember what is great for one person may be terrible for another.

One of the best ways to find out which foods serve YOU most is something called the Breakfast Experiment.  For one week, eat a different breakfast each day.  Record in a notebook what you ate, how you felt immediately after the meal, and how you felt again two hours later.

You could try one of these meals each day to complete the experiment. These breakfast ideas are simple, delicious, and satisfying.

1. Poached Eggs with Salad or Steamed Vegetables

I could eat eggs every day, but I think it is good to have variety.  I don’t use any fancy tools to poach my eggs.  I fill a frying pan with water and a little apple cider vinegar.  When the water heats up I crack an egg into a cup then gently slide it into the water.  After about five minutes I use a slotted spoon to take the egg out of the water.  I usually have some mixed greens and pre-chopped vegetables ready to go and I place the poached egg right on the salad.

2. Protein Smoothie
There are so many smoothie options.  I try to keep to low sugar fruits and add some healthy fats so that I am not hungry an hour later.  Get the recipe.

3. Chia Pudding
I usually make this the night before a busy morning.  Get the recipe.

4. Gluten Free Bagel
In addition, to having these for breakfast they are easy to take with you.  They satisfy the occasional craving for bread although they are very different. Get the recipe.

5. Superfood Oatmeal
I usually make this meal when I am running low on groceries.  I may not have eggs, but I usually have all the ingredients to make this oatmeal. Get the recipe.

6. Leftovers
It can be hard to get away from the traditional mindset with breakfast.  I usually prefer to have dinner leftovers for lunch, but leftovers for breakfast is a great idea.

7. Avocado on Grain Free Flaxseed Waffle
I recently found this flaxseed waffle recipe online.   I love avocado toast but don’t have a gluten free bread that I like.  These waffles are really good and only have a few ingredients.  There is also a substitution for making them without eggs.  I have only tried the recipe with eggs.
